Update 28 - 8 - 08

Hey guys. Updating 7 blogs at once =/= easy. That comes out of laziness and why I update twice a year.

My Sec 2 schoolmates have started playing IaMP - now to get them to start on SWR. Shun Git, for some reason, has StB. This totally scares me because very few people bother with StB due to its non-shmup nature.

So, me and Bowie popped by today.

Completely owned.

IaMP: Bowie vs. Shun Git [Patchouli vs. Sakuya], 2-1
SWR: Me vs. Edward [Reimu vs. Aya], 2-0
SWR: Me vs. Edward [Yukari vs. random], 2-0

I lold.

I'm not gonna random spam images because I decided to end this update here. Whoops.

Some other time six months down the road. See you again.

Update 11th March 2008.

You know, if this thing actually got any traffic at all, I'd probably update a lot more often. Possibly on the same scale as my DeviantArt account.

Went to Kinokuniya yesterday with my Mangacom team members Zhang Quan and Bowie (Mangacom is an ACS Life Sciences competition where each team creates a manga based on the theme "Man, Molecules and Machines". We got the merit award, worth $100 in Kinokuniya vouchers. Pretty good for a rushed job). There was a 20% off offer for Kinokuniya members, and we just happened to have a membership card and $100 in vouchers between us, so...

My haul for the trip.

The total cost of the five books you see above was $26, plus a few cents.
Items:
1. Lucky Star volume 5 (Kadokawa Comics) - $7.82 (before discount)
2. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni [Onikakushi-hen] (Ching Win Comics) - $6.63 + $6.51 (before discount)
3. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni [Tatarigoroshi-hen] (Ching Win Comics) - $6.55 + $6.54 (before discount)

No, I haven't finished reading them yet. Lucky Star is complete - that's about it.

In other words, my shipment came in yesterday. S$81.20 of stuff you will never find in Singapore. I immediately ripped it apart - then put it back together to take pictures.

EMS box - notice the "Japan" stamped all over the box.

The EMS box the shipment came in. Nothing much to see, but this very box took almost an entire week to reach my house. Actually, it took an entire week, 7 days exactly from when I sent in the payment.

Item came wrapped in a Japanese newspaper. Pretty standard fare.

Bubble wrap inside as well. I'm pretty sure nothing broke, what with the cardboard outside, the newspaper and now the bubble wrap.

Items were just as expected. Nothing more, nothing less. But it still felt pretty epic - I was finally in possession of something I've been looking forward to owning for a year.

Pretty cool. Two game CDs and one music CD.

Items purchased:
1. 東方妖々夢 ~ Perfect Cherry Blossom (Team Shanghai Alice) - US$17.99
2. 東方文花帖 ~ SHOOT THE BULLET (Team Shanghai Alice) - US$14.99
3. 蓬莱人形 ~ Dolls in Pseudo Paradise (Team Shanghai Alice Music Collection Vol. 1) - US$9.99

At the moment, I haven't actually touched any of the items, aside from Shoot the Bullet. Just the feeling of having it is epic.

Then of course, there's the art column I always have. Today I'm featuring... myself.

I guess it's because I never actually bother to properly advertise this place, but my DA gets more traffic than anything else I have on the Internet. This most recent piece is for my submission to Another Dream, a Western Touhou doujin release. It might form the cover, and it might not.

And that concludes the update for today. Let's seriously hope someone reads it. If you do, 谢谢.

Posting of Pastimes.

Title completely unrelated.

Miraculously no homework today so I can update my blog.

Then I realise something.

Watch the Flash below.

Now you get the point, so here is Walfas' latest Touhou Flash update - priceless.

I just bought a new MP4 player - the Creative ZEN Portable Media Player.

Yay.

Obviously I'm not going to bother taking a picture of a square block of plastic just so I can put it on this blog, so just go to the Creative website or something.

Currently transferring my entire collection of Touhou images to the MP3 player. Time taken? 10 minutes and counting.

Will update again when I actually use the player.

AnimeEOY@Expo 2007.

I went.

Because I decided to split my posts between four blogs, I have dedicated my Wordpress blog to anime stuff in general. Thus visit that place for further info on EOY 2007 (if you didn't go, updates for you. If you went, you can compare how you felt with how I did.)

There were numerous cosplayers, good and bad. I shall not further elaborate on this blog.

Something Beautiful.

Updating a blog has got to be the most irritating thing ever. Unless you are the type of person who likes displaying his rather mundane life on his or her blog for everybody in the world to see. Well, those with an Internet connection, that is. And access to a computer. Think about it, though - unless you lived your days moonlighting as a stripper in a club or a DJ or something, it's not going to be much different from the lives of everyone else. It's exactly the same as seeing a post concerning almost exactly the same subject matter on a dead blog halfway across the world, in America or something. Heck, maybe he plays Touhou too. Unless, you WERE, of course, a stripper in a nightclub. Maybe the posts might be more interesting.

My Hope is You - off the Terragen website.

I, honestly, am not a good blogger. My posts have close to no superficial substance, the little snippets of life that others enjoy putting on the blogs, the very same little snippets that other people leading the same mundane lives enjoy reading. The kind about the cheese on your rice not being cooked enough, or your offerings about the suffering of animals across the country. Maybe about leeks. And spinning ones, at that. There isn't much climax to my posts, either - you read it, you fall asleep, you hit your nose on the table and navigate to another blog with blood running down your lip.

Maybe, the only thing I can say that I have different from quite a few other people, is my obsessive hoarding of images. Loads of images. Enough to cover every single wall of my house if I were to print them and paste them somewhere. Enough images to make up 3.5 GB of my hard drive.

So they are what drive my blogposts. Seriously. I just throw in random, sometimes related, pictures and hope people are interested. Maybe someday I'll learn the fine art of blogging. It's just not today.

This time, no anime pictures. Deviantart is ownage.
